Booking Cancellation Policy
Effective Date: September 30, 2026
At Skye Hotel Ridgetown, we understand that travel plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to provide reasonable flexibility while allowing us to manage room availability effectively.
1. Standard Reservations
For reservations booked directly with Skye Hotel Ridgetown:
Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the scheduled check-in date will generally be accepted without a cancellation fee.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled check-in date may be subject to a cancellation charge equivalent to one night’s room rate plus applicable taxes.
Guests who do not arrive for their reservation without cancelling (no-show) may be charged one night’s room rate plus applicable taxes.
Any remaining nights on a no-show reservation may be cancelled by the hotel unless otherwise agreed.
The cancellation deadline is based on the hotel’s local time in Ridgetown, Ontario.
2. Advance Purchase and Non-Refundable Reservations
Certain promotional, discounted, advance-purchase, or non-refundable rates may have different cancellation conditions.
Where a reservation is identified as non-refundable, the amount paid may not be refundable if the reservation is cancelled, modified, or if the guest does not arrive.
The cancellation terms displayed at the time of booking will apply to the reservation.
3. Third-Party and OTA Reservations
Reservations made through third-party booking platforms, including online travel agencies (OTAs), are subject to the cancellation and modification terms displayed by that platform at the time of booking.
This may include reservations made through platforms such as Expedia, Booking.com, Agoda, or other booking providers.
If your reservation was made through a third-party platform, please contact that platform directly to cancel or modify your reservation.
Where the third party’s cancellation policy differs from the hotel’s standard cancellation policy, the cancellation terms shown on your booking confirmation will govern your reservation.
4. Early Departure
If a guest checks out before the original departure date, the hotel may charge for the remaining nights depending on the rate and cancellation conditions applicable to the reservation.
Guests wishing to shorten their stay should contact the hotel as soon as possible.
Early departure requests are subject to availability and the applicable booking terms.
5. Date Changes and Reservation Modifications
Requests to change the check-in date, check-out date, number of guests, room type, or other reservation details are subject to availability.
A change to the reservation may result in a different room rate or cancellation conditions.
If the requested change cannot be accommodated, the original reservation terms may continue to apply.
6. Group Reservations
Reservations involving multiple rooms, sports teams, corporate groups, events, extended stays, or other group bookings may be subject to separate cancellation and deposit requirements.
The specific cancellation terms provided with the group booking or agreement will apply.
7. Extended-Stay Reservations
Reservations involving extended stays may have additional cancellation, modification, payment, or deposit requirements.
Guests making an extended-stay reservation will be informed of any applicable terms at the time of booking.
8. Hotel Cancellation of a Reservation
In exceptional circumstances, the hotel may need to cancel or modify a reservation due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, safety concerns, operational issues, or other legitimate reasons.
If the hotel cancels a confirmed reservation before arrival, we will make reasonable efforts to notify the guest and, where appropriate, assist with alternative accommodation or applicable refund arrangements.
9. Force Majeure and Unforeseen Circumstances
Cancellation or refund requests relating to circumstances outside a guest’s control may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Examples may include severe weather, transportation disruptions, government restrictions, emergencies, or other extraordinary circumstances.
Any exception to the standard cancellation policy is at the hotel’s discretion and may require supporting documentation.
10. Refunds
Where a refund is approved, the refund will generally be processed using the original payment method.
Processing times may vary depending on the payment provider or financial institution.
Third-party reservations may require refunds to be processed by the booking platform through which the reservation was made.
